Zoe Saldana won her first Golden Globe award on Sunday, and fans couldn’t help but praise her fellow nominee and co-star Selena Gomez for her heartfelt reaction.

Both Saldana, 46, and Gomez, 32, were nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy or Musical for their roles in the Netflix film Emilia Perez. While many expected Ariana Grande, known for her role in Wicked, to win, Saldana ultimately triumphed over Grande, Gomez, Felicity Jones (The Brutalist), Margaret Qualley (The Substance), and Isabella Rossellini (Conclave).

Just before the announcement, Gomez was spotted mouthing “Zoe, Zoe, Zoe,” and when Saldana’s name was called, she jumped to her feet, embraced her mother, and then turned to Gomez, exclaiming, “I love you!” The two shared a warm hug before Saldana walked up to accept her award.

Fans quickly took to social media to celebrate Gomez’s reaction, highlighting her supportive spirit despite being a competitor for the same award.
