At a Fenty Beauty event in her home country of Barbados, Rihanna had a good time deejaying.

The 36-year-old vocalist of Umbrella looked stunning in a brown midi-length dress with ruching all over it and a plunging neckline.

To the surprise of the gathered audience, who were there to commemorate the opening of a Fenty store in the Caribbean country, the mother of two truly got into her set.

In a speech she gave during the occasion, Rihanna alluded to the prospect of her musical retirement.

Speaking to the audience, she remarked, “Music was the thing that got the attention, but God had other plans for me.”

In her home country of Barbados, Rihanna had a great time DJing at a Fenty Beauty event.

The comment rekindled fans’ concerns that RiRi might never complete her much awaited ninth album and perhaps even stop putting out new music altogether.

Many expressed their disappointment on social media, which was exacerbated by the fact that she hasn’t put out any new music in eight years, that her ninth studio album appears to be at a standstill, and that earlier this year she wore a t-shirt with the words “I’m Retired” printed on the front.

However, the fact that Rihanna has not made it clear that she is retiring from music should give fans some comfort. She responded to the widely circulated reports of her wearing the ‘I’m Retired’ t-shirt back in June.

She said there was another line on the t-shirt and denied it had any significance.

She was attempting to convey the idea that this was as dressed up as she got.

Rihanna has made no secret of the fact that she loves the creative process of creating Fenty Beauty and her other aspirations in the fashion and beauty industries.

The singer of Pon de Replay recently collaborated with Puma to develop a new range, and in an interview with W Magazine, she talked about what inspired the vibrant apparel.

“I want to create items for every kind of body.” When I initially started, even with River Island, that was really deliberate,” she told the newspaper. The freedom I have with [Fenty x Puma] is immense. Every member of my crew should have something.
