๏ปฟRihanna has the largest mansion in the Century, which occupies the entire 40th floor and offers a vista that not everyone can enjoy.
The Century, one of the priciest and most prominent residential complexes in Los Angeles, has been Rihanna’s principal residence since 2014. But with a new baby and another on the way, staff, and her ever-present entourage, she feels a touch overcrowded in her 3,500-square-foot, three-bedroom house.
To get out of this situation, the Barbados celebrity spent $21 million to buy a penthouse that occupies the entire 40th floor of The Century, one of the biggest homes in the building. With almost 9,000 square feet of living space, several unique features, and stunning views, the spread is suitable for any A-lister.
Nick Molnar, a billionaire and co-founder of the internet company Afterpay, sold the apartment for $28 million. However, since the purchase was completed on March 31, only one day before the new tax took effect, Rihanna likely used L.A.’s mansion tax as leverage to negotiate a sizable decrease. If the purchase had been made in April, Molnar would have owed an additional $1.1 million in taxes.
As soon as guests exit the private elevator landing into the condo’s entrance gallery, they are astonished by the living room’s curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the metropolitan skyline. The dining area’s dark brown hardwood floors blend seamlessly into the white kitchen, which features two islands, marble countertops, and top-of-the-line appliances.
The house also includes a master suite with a curved bedroom, two custom closets, two bathrooms, and a separate lounge, as well as a soundproof movie theater with velour sofas. The condo’s most striking features are likely its four separate outdoor terraces, which face north, south, east, and west and provide expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, the skyscrapers of Downtown Los Angeles, the San Gabriel mountains, and even snow-capped Mount Baldy.
Although Rihanna’s penthouse has a high monthly HOA fee of $8,814, she receives access to all of the building’s best features, such as four deeded parking spaces in the garage, a 24-hour concierge, security guards, an outdoor pool and lush gardens, on-site storage, a restaurant, conference rooms, and much more.
