Selena Gomez shared some self-love on Instagram on Monday.
The 31-year-old actress posted a picture from the past of herself in a small zebra bikini. She then posted a more current bathing suit picture of herself wearing high-waisted bikini bottoms and a white tube top to show off her bigger body.
“I realized today that I’ll never look this way again…” Selena wrote about the first shot, which was taken in Miami, Florida, in 2013. She had previously said that body-shaming comments made her “tear my eyes out.”
“I’m not perfect, but I like who I am…” “Sometimes I forget it’s okay to be myself,” she said about the next picture, which was taken in 2023 in Mexico.
Selena has said good things about her body in the past. In February of last year, she also faced people who made fun of her body and told them that her lupus medicine was to blame for her weight gain. Gomez had taken off her makeup earlier in the day to get pampered at Face Place in West Hollywood. She wore grey cashmere-style sweatpants and brown fuzzy slides.
It’s been around for 52 years and offers medical beauty treatments like Botox, Radiofrequency Microneedling, Kybella, and Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening. The pop star had a lot on her plate when she got there.
In February of last year, Gomez told people who were to her online that she would “never be a model.”
The actor from “The Only Murders in the Building” said that the she takes will make her “carry a lot of water weight.” She also told her fans to love themselves even when they feel bad about it.
The singer of “Lose You to Love Me,” who has talked before about her autoimmune and health problems, said, “When I’m off of it, I tend to lose weight.”
While still pushing body acceptance, the former Disney star said that the minor side effect was not as important to her health as her overall health: “My are crucial, and I believe they are what help me.”
When critics spoke up, she told them to “go away” because she didn’t believe in judging people based on their body or anything else.
She said, “So, definitely not a model,” and then she added, “Never will be.”
She said, “And not only do I think they’re amazing, but I’m not that.”
The singer then told her fans to love and accept themselves.
“I just wanted to speak out and speak hope to everyone who feels ashamed of what they’re going through because no one knows the whole story,” she said.
“I just want everyone to know how beautiful and wonderful you are.”
The Wizards of Waverly Place star stressed how important her health was over how she looked.
“And yes, we all have days when we want to ****,” she said. “But I’d rather be healthy and take care of myself.”
After going to the 2023 Golden Globes the month before, the author of Rare Beauty dealt with more comments that made fun of her body.
Selena asked her half-sister Gracie, who is nine years old, on Instagram Live, “I’m a little bit big right now, since I had a good time over the holidays, huh?”
Before Selena said, “But we don’t care,” Gracie seemed to agree.
In a 2022 Stories video, she spoke out against people who shame women’s bodies.
Really, I don’t care about my weight since so many people are upset about it. “That doesn’t fit, you’re too small or too big, meh meh meh meh.”
