Kevin Hart and wife Eniko Parrish were snapped shopping at Maxfield in West Hollywood, California on Tuesday, about two months after his car crash, and amid new developments in the comic’s $60M lawsuit from sex tape partner Montia Sabbag.
The Philadelphia native, 40, was clad in a navy blue sweater with blue jeans and white and navy blue sneakers on the crisp autumn day. He rounded out his ensemble with a watch and a necklace in the outing, in which he tipped a valet parker $100, TMZ reported.
He told photographers he was off through the new year to focus on his physical recovery and rehabilitation after the accident.
Eniko, 35, donned a yellow Gucci sweater with a cat’s face with the text ‘Guccy’ splayed across the front, with black leggings and multicolored sneakers. The Baltimore-born beauty had her dark locks pulled back and wore dark sunglasses while toting a designer purse. Eniko and Hart are parents to toddler son Kenzo, who turns two-years-old later this month.
Hart, though his legal team on Tuesday, responded to Sabbag’s lawsuit as ‘baseless,’ as she claims the comedian worked in concert with a number of parties to put out a sex tape she and Hart made during a tryst, according to court docs obtained by The Blast.
After Sabbag requested an extension in the case to submit further paperwork, citing positive ongoing developments with a settlement, Hart through his legal team denied on working out anything with Sabbag or her team.
Hart’s lawyers said Sabbag is ‘improperly attempting to drag out the litigation in order to delay the inevitable determination that her claims are, in fact, baseless,’ according to court docs.
In her suit, Sabbag named alongside Hart, the website Fameoulous, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and an ex-Hart associate named Jonathan Todd Jackson. She said in court docs that the aforementioned parties worked in concert ‘to intentionally record’ her ‘engaged in private sexual relations with’ the comic ‘without her knowledge or consent.’
On Tuesday, Hart was spotted driving a Mercedes-Benz SLS sports vehicle. Just over two months have passed since the terrible September 1 catastrophe. This necessitated an emergency operation to fuse three parts of his spine.
Officials said Hart was a passenger in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda with his wife Parrish’s personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman, 32, and her fiance Jared Black, 28, who was driving the vintage vehicle when it veered off Mulholland Highway and careened into a ditch in Malibu Hills, California.
Hart made an impassioned speech earlier this week at the People’s Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California, as he accepted the honors for the Comedy Act award for Irresponsible, his Netflix special.
‘First and foremost, thank God because I definitely don’t have to be here – being that I am, it makes me appreciate life even more,’ he said. ‘It makes me appreciate the things that really matter – family. I want to thank my wife and my kids, who really stepped up to the plate for me.’
He addressed his fan base, saying, ‘You have no idea the effect that you have on us as entertainers. Your energy, your support. It means the world and I truly want to thank you guys for being there for me in my difficult time.’
