It’s a milestone that many fathers understand all too well.
On Monday, Kevin Hart posted a selfie on social media, sitting in the front passenger seat of a car driven by his 16-year-old daughter Heaven.
“My little girl is growing up,” the actor wrote in the post, expressing pleasure and nostalgia.
Heaven is Hart’s oldest child. He shares her and her 13-year-old brother, Hendrix, with his ex-wife Torrei Hart, whom he divorced in 2011. The 41-year-old “Ride Along” star has two younger children, three-year-old son Kenzo and 18-month-old daughter Kaori, with his second wife, Eniko, whom he married in 2016.
Hart formally admitted to cheating on Eniko while she was expecting their child in December 2017. The matter was resolved in the marriage, but Hart acknowledged in a recent interview that it was challenging to tell his two older children about his affair.
During a Father’s Day episode of Red Table Talk with Will Smith, Hart stated, “You don’t realise the impact that your mistakes can truly have.” When the kids become involved, it’s a completely new sensation and emotion.”
He went on to state that his most difficult talk was with Heaven, explaining, “Getting my daughter to understand that I was sorry, that I made a mistake, that was true. My daughter was and continues to be tough on me. “She does not play games with her father.”
