Selena Gomez was protective of her six-year-old sister Gracie Teefey as she walked the red carpet for the first time at the Frozen 2 opening last month.
The 27-year-old artist talked about her pre-red carpet routine with Gracie on the BBC Radio 1 show Sounds. She said, “I bent down and looked at her before we stepped on.” I told her, “Just pull my hand, and I’ll take you off right away if you get scared or stressed out.” Selena added, “And she’s like, ‘Okay.'” She was remembering Gracie’s answer. She walked right onto the carpet and had a great time with the feathers.
Selena talked about the moment with fondness, “And I’m standing there, like, ‘Gracie, include me in the picture too!'” Her only goal was to have fun. She told host Nick Grimshaw, who fans call “Grimmy,” that taking Gracie to the red carpet was “truly the coolest feeling.”
Selena said this about the event: “I told her, ‘This is my favourite carpet I have ever done,'” because she had never done one before and no one forced her to. She also said, “It’s all about the dresses and the glitter now” about Gracie’s sudden love of glitz.
When asked about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, Selena said on the UK radio show, “Oh, she had the best time.” It was like going to Disneyland. When Selena and Gracie got to the premiere, they were dressed in similar Frozen costumes, even though they aren’t in the movies.
The opening took place in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre, which is famous for being the site of the Academy Awards. The Frozen movie series from Disney has been a huge hit, and last year it opened as a Broadway show at the St. James Theatre.
